The courageous team ECCT, runners David Crombie and Mark Barron, have the end of the Mekong River Run in their sights! The number of marathons remaining has reached single figures. Having run a marathon on six out of seven days for the last three months, battling extreme physical and mental demands, the athletes are understandably exhausted! But they are reaching deep into their energy reserves to run the remaining kilometres to the South China Sea. The team at Home from Home has tracked the runners’ progress with keen interest as they have journeyed from the Chinese border through Laos, Cambodia and South Vietnam. Marvelling at the physical feat the runners have and continue to accomplish – all in an effort to raise funds and awareness for Home from Home.
David and Mark are pictured here having completed their 50th marathon on 4 January 2013. For up to date reports on the runner’s progress as they near the finish line, click here to visit the Mekong River Run Facebook page.
