At Home from Home we rely on the support from our generous network of supporters, donors, associates, fundraisers and volunteers. Without your support we would be unable to continue to provide the level of care we do for our children. There are many different ways that you can make an impact on the lives of our children.

Child Sponsorship programme

Our Child Sponsorship Programme enables you to sponsor individual children for an extended period. By sponsoring a child, you agree to make a regular contribution of only R150 per month, and this contribution enables us to cover some of the expenses of raising a child. Home from Home provides a bi-annual update on the child including a photograph.

Financial Donations

Providing a financial donation to Home from Home not only enables us to build, rent or buy the houses we use as foster homes, it enables us to provide each child with the love and comfort of a family life. Of course our children need more than just a stable home, they also need therapeutic intervention, educational assistance, counselling and extramural activities.

Home from Home is registered as a charity organisation in a myriad of countries to enable residents who are supporters of Home from Home to donate in the most tax efficient way. Please view our banking details below or feel free to make an online donation today.

Participate in a Sponsored Event

We are extremely grateful to our wonderful supporters from all over the world who have organised their own sponsored events and donated the proceedings to us.

If you would like to organise a fundraising event for us, here's how to get started!

  1. Decide how you would like to raise funds for Home from Home. Will you be running a race, hosting an event or just encouraging donations on an ongoing basis?
  2. Set up your Givengain Home from Home activist profile here.
  3. Encourage all of your family, friends, colleagues and others interested in sponsoring you to visit this page and make their donations online. (All payments are secure and will be delivered directly to Home from Home.)

For more information on getting involved in a sponsored event, contact our Head Office.

Pledge your birthday

Use your special day to improve the lives of vulnerable children. By including Home from Home in your birthday celebration you bring awareness to our work and help improve lives. A donation of this kind extends the goodwill of the occasion far beyond the day itself, helping to ensure vulnerable children are able to grow up in safe and stable family homes. Pledge your birthday to Home from Home today and we will send you a special birthday card from our children.

Donate Goods

As we set up houses and upgrade or add to existing homes, there is always a need for bedding, curtains, furniture, children's clothing, appliances, crockery, cutlery, garden tools and toys. If you would like to know what we need, feel free to contact our office and we'll be able to tell you!

All goods can be dropped off at our Head Office at 73 Main Road, Plumstead.

One of the most rewarding ways to get involved with Home from Home is through becoming a volunteer. We accept both local and international volunteers. There are many tasks you could get involved with, from taking children on outings to providing lifts for our foster moms and children.  We would also love to have volunteers with special skills such as counselling, physiotherapy and occupational therapy as we could incorporate these into our programme.

Please email or call +27 21 761 7251 so we can chat about how you would like to volunteer.
