
Professor Thulane Gxubane is currently a Deputy HOD, a Coursework postgraduate programmes convener and a senior lecturer in the Department of Social Development at UCT. As a social worker he has worked mainly in the field of criminal justice system mainly with youth offenders, their victims and their families within the context of youth diversion programme. He holds a PhD Degree in Social Work from UCT. He teaches and specializes in probation practice as part of the broader of criminal justice social work field. His research areas of interest in which he has published extensively include: probation practice, youth justice, restorative justice, family group conferencing, youth sex offending, youth gang violence and reintegration of offenders.
